The organisers asked us to come up with a full PR and marketing campaign that would generate press coverage and regional interest to drive ticket sales, all on a tight budget. Our brief included bringing their entire marketing efforts up-to-date, while staying true to the historical character of this much-loved local show. We began with a full six-month strategy to include every aspect of the pre-show PR and marketing. We project managed two 32-page visitor programmes, including copywriting and sourcing adverts and liaising with designers. Our team handled the show’s entire social media activity and email marketing activity, raising awareness among the general public and helping the show to sell more trade stands and advertising. We also managed blogs, website updates, local print advertising campaigns and ran a series of competitions to build future email marketing lists. We issued a series of press releases to promote the headline acts, the highlights, the show’s community links and its charitable donations. This secured high-profile local broadcast interviews and our efforts delivered 3x as many press mentions in 2019 than the year before.
